Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.

Left to Tell – Immaculee Ilibagiza
If you ever get the opportunity to read the book ‘Left to Tell’ by Immaculee Ilibagiza, seize the opportunity. It is a wonderful example of unconditional love and forgiveness in the most challenging of conditions. Cathie and Peter share their thoughts about this book and the unusual circumstances in which they both read the book within 24 hours of each other.
Immaculee shares her moving story …
From Cathie
I first heard about the book ‘Left to Tell’ some months ago after I’d read Anne Frank’s diary and felt instinctively that I needed to read it. While I was reading a book by Dr Wayne Dyer, the book came to light again so I decided it was the next book I would read. As soon as I began reading the first page, I didn’t want to put it down.
The testimonials in the book said things like “inspirational”, “life changing”, “you will never forget Immaculee”, “changed me forever”, etc., etc. The foreword by Dr Wayne W Dyer said that he’d read thousands of books over the past 50 years and Left to Tell was by far the most moving and poignantly significant book in his lifetime of personal reading.
When I read these words, I wondered just how moving Left to Tell could be. I knew it was about the true story of Immaculee Ilibagiza, of how she survived the Rwandan holocaust but I could never have imagined how this book would move me.
From start to finish, I was immersed in the book and showered with Immaculee’s courage, faith, determination to survive and most importantly for me, her gift of forgiveness, which I believe is the ultimate in pure love. I believe through Immaculee being Left to Tell, there is HOPE for peace in the world.
I have to agree with the words “This is a book that defies adequate description”.
My own belief in something greater than us that creates miracles, has indeed been confirmed and that forgiveness is the ultimate calling for us to begin to have love and peace in our world. I strongly believe I was meant to read Left to Tell and that it will have some meaning in my own life.
After reading just the first few pages, I was so moved that I rang Peter and strongly suggested he read the book.
From Peter
When Cathie rang me and asked if I was familiar with the book ‘Left To Tell’ I had to confess I wasn’t. However because of Cathie’s passionate recommendation, I did some research on google about the book. Wow, the reviews were incredible. So that evening, (Saturday), I purchased a copy of the book online and waited eagerly for it to arrive.
Early the following morning, I went with my daughter Charlotte to one of the biggest Sunday market and carboot sales in the UK with over 800 stalls trading each week. We arrived earlier than expected and many of the traders were still setting up their stalls. So we walked around a bit and headed towards one of the few stalls already displaying a small number of goods. You can imagine my absolute delight and surprise when on the very first stall I approached, there on the table in front of me was an unmarked copy of ‘Left To Tell’. It was displayed in a prominent position almost ‘standing out’ from anything else on the table.
Needless to say I purchased the book and was immediately in awe about how such synchronicities work. Our decision to go to the Sunday market was made late on Saturday night. We anticipated it would take about 1 hour to drive to the market but arrived earlier than expected. Over 800 stalls were trading at the market selling every conceivable item you could think off. The events which had to conspire together to get me to that particular stall, at that precise moment, are mind-boggling.
About 8.00pm the same evening I went to my study, closed the door and began to read ‘Left To Tell’. Like Cathie, I couldn’t put it down. I went to bed around midnight and got up at 6.00am the following morning and finished reading the book.
I can only endorse all the other wonderful reviews. The book impacted me in ways that few other books have done. It is a powerful demonstration of unconditional love and forgiveness in the most unimaginable of circumstances.
Throughout the book, reference is made to ‘God moving in mysterious ways’. The circumstances in which both Cathie and I acquired this book, and read it from cover to cover within 24 hours of each other is, we believe, also a mystery and one which encourages us to share this book to all readers of magneticlifestyle.com.
It is indeed an inspirational and life changing book and has our highest recommendation.
Footnote: The copy I ordered online arrived about 4 days later and is a wonderful gift to pass on.
