Introduction

If you are like most people your life is very busy. However, if you are willing to give yourself the gift of just 15 minutes a day – and YOU are certainly WORTH it – you will be amazed at the improvements you can make in virtually every area of your life.

The 15 minute challenge is based on the principle that success or failure in life is seldom the result of a single extraordinary event, but rather the discipline of small, consistent, daily actions. Although it is possible for everyone to put aside just find 15 minutes a day to commit to this challenge, not everybody will because what is easy to do is also easy not to do. So the starting point is to find your reason Why. When your Why is BIG enough, you will develop the discipline to follow through. Read the post Live your life on purpose

The flow of the universe

The universe is like a river which keeps flowing. We can sit by a river and enjoy it or we can jump in and drown. Whichever we choose, the river keeps flowing because it is impersonal. And so it is with the universe. The universe is a ‘river of life’ that flows in accordance with universal laws (see Appearances lie) and based on our understanding of these laws, we either flow with the river or against it. It is our responsibility to understand these laws and flow in harmony with them.
We may go to the river of life with a thimble, a barrel or a pipeline depending on where we are in consciousness. If we believe in lack and limitation we will go to the river with a thimble. We may even resent those who go with a pipeline, but the lack or limitation is only in our mind.

Is your dimmer switch turned up or down?

The following analogy may assist. Imagine you have a dimmer switch on your dining room light. If the dimmer switch is turned up, the power flowing through the bulb increases and you get more light. If the dimmer is turned down, the power flowing through the bulb reduces and you get less light. In both caseS, the full power is always present. A turned down dimmer is like a consciousness of lack and restricts the flow of wellbeing and abundance into your life. A turned up dimmer is a consciousness that works in harmony with universal laws and allows the unobstructed flow of wellbeing and abundance into your life.

You are already whole

If you have understood the core message of the 17 posts in the acronym magnetic lifestyle you will know that living your ideal life is not a matter of ‘adding’ to your resources from outside of yourself, but ‘awakening’ to your resources already within. The most important understanding you can have is that you are a spiritual being and spirit is wholeness. See Guide to who you are This means the abundance of the universe or everything you desire is already here, but you will only experience it to the degree you truly believe it and allow it to flow freely into your life. See Everything is already here

Affirming the Truth

Every thought we think and every word we speak is an affirmation which our subconscious mind takes literally to create our life experiences. It is important therefore that our thoughts and self-talk reflect the truth of who we really are (a spiritual being created in the image and likeness of our Creator), rather than the erroneous beliefs and opinions of other people. Unfortunately most of our current self-talk and thoughts are negative because of prior conditioning. To understand how our beliefs are formed. See It’s not your fault

As a result, many people approach affirmations from a place of lack and limitation and don’t really believe the words they are affirming. For example, affirming “I am abundant” or “I am healthy” when you are experiencing financial challenges or sickness seems ridiculous and a waste of time. Why would we want to think and talk about conditions (health and abundance) that don’t yet exist? Yet this is precisely what many people do on an ongoing basis. It’s called fear, worry and anxiety!

We are told to “get real” and “face facts” but this is before we understood the creative power of thought. Affirmations are powerful because it is the thoughts we are having in the present moment that lay the foundations for what we will experience in the future. This is because the subconscious mind cannot differentiate between our current reality and what we choose to affirm and will use its creative ability to manifest what we believe to be true.

The process is within/out

In an attempt to make the teaching practical, many teachers of truth encourage you to select a positive statement that articulates what you wish to see manifest in your life and continually affirm it until it becomes established in the subconscious mind to replace the previously held limiting belief. And although this is fundamentally correct, it can be misleading. You don’t need to program the ‘success pattern’ into your subconscious mind, because you are already created in the ‘image and likeness’ of your Creator. Your wholeness is not dependent upon something happening outside of yourself, but an awakening of the divine potential that is always present within you.

You are not just a subconscious mind that reproduces itself. You are a whole person and repeating words or affirmations do not make something true. It is either true or it isn’t. You affirm the words (add firmness to them) because they are true. This is a subtle but important distinction.

Tinted glasses

Whenever we are confronted with difficult challenges in life, there is a desire to go ‘out there’ and set things right. But the first step should always be to see things right. See Appearances lie Right seeing or right thinking is based on truth, and will always be right for you. The following analogy may help.

In our early years we are, metaphorically speaking, provided with a pair of tinted glasses through which we see the world. The tint comprises all the limiting beliefs and opinions of our parents, teachers and others in authority. After a while we don’t even realise we are wearing these glasses and assume that the way we see the world is the way everyone else sees it. If other people see the world differently, we think they are wrong. The problem is everyone is wearing their own pair of tinted glasses and each tint is slightly different based on the limiting beliefs and opinions of their individual peer group. When ever we are wearing our tinted glasses we will always see the world through our conditioned belief system. Until we discover we are wearing these tinted glasses and take them off, we cannot see the world differently.

Removing your tinted glasses is like removing a rubber band secured tightly around your finger. As soon as the obstruction is removed, the full flow of the universal life force instantly returns. It is always present, waiting patiently and eagerly to flow through you.

The 15 minutes a day challenge

The 15 minutes a day challenge is designed to help you remove any obstructions to the universal flow. It consists of a few exercises and will focus on a different area in peoples’ lives. Although any 15 minute period is fine, choose a time when you will not be disturbed. Early in the morning is ideal and will set you up nicely for the day.

We begin the challenge in the area of … SELF ACCEPTANCE
